Amazon!

Audrey's favorite stuffed animal is "Dotty" her pink and white spotted Ty Pluffies Dog that Aunt Carrie bought for her (I believe when they were born) Madison got a monkey and Zoie a bear... well while looking at books at Hasting's, Madison spotted a blue and white spotted Ty Pluffies Dog and was smitten by it. We said "no" since we have plenty of stuffed animals. But after a week or so of her asking if she could have it I picked it up after work. I figured it wasn't a big deal since Zoie didn't really show interest in it, whoops.. Madison was absolutely in love with her blue and white "Dotty" and of course, Zoie now needed one. I hit Amazon and found a red heart Ty Pluffies so I ordered that... and a "Marky Sparky Blast Pad Advanced Missile Launch System"! Zoie has been asking for about 2 weeks if she could have a "Dotty", it arrived via UPS today. I held off on presenting it to her until bedtime. But after dinner we broke out the Missile Launcher! I know it looks and sounds silly, and it is, but it is also fun and fun is just what the doctor ordered... okay, actually the Doctor ordered 5 ML of Amoxicillin/clavulanic acid twice a day for 5 days for Zoie. This morning Zoie decided to smother and otherwise love on Gizmo, kitty had enough cuddling and gave her a nip, nothing serious or vicious but a cat bite nonetheless so I took some time off in the middle of my day and took her to the Dr. In the picture with her and Dotty you can see a slight red mark on her right arm, and that is about the extent of the injury. But she learned a valuable lesson today, one that we had been trying to get through to her for a while and that is... when the cat growls, let him go.

Ready for liftoff!

Summer in April

The cold tundra of our yard has given way to sprouting flowers, green grass, lilacs that are ready to bloom and what seems to be an acre of dandelions. The girls get rather upset with us when we try to kill the "yellow flowers". It's springtime in the Rockies, which means 82 today and by the end of the week they forecast a high temperature of 52. We took advantage of a couple of really nice, just about summer-like days by mowing the yard, playing in the garden, filling the kiddie pool and playing on the swing set.
Zoie is a trusting soul... I expected Madison to start spraying.

I didn't have to wait long...

The progression of Audrey blowing bubbles.

Get the wand a bit closer...

Get bubble mix in your mouth...

Blow bubbles with your mouth and laugh!

Madison "HIGHER!!", Zoie "HIGHER!", Audrey "AAAAAAHHHHH!!!!"

Go to sleeeeeep, go to sleeeeeeep, GO TO SLEEP!!!

The girls were just little chatter bugs tonight after I put them to bed. So we went to check on them and they were camping. They had taken their turtle with lights and changed it to orange stars, which was their campfire, and Audrey was reading to them. She was making up the stories as she was going along. So we went in and took some video footage for you. But darn blogspot limitations. We'll have to post it somewhere else for your viewing pleasure.

Not to be outdone, Zoie grabbed a book she could read to you.

Was looking through the videos yesterday and came across this one.

Happy Easter & Spring.

So March 31st we had our Mother of Multiples Easter Party at our house and I made the Easter Bunny Cake and I was just so proud of it I had to share it. I originally was going to make it just white cake, but the recipe was smaller than I anticipated so the cake would have been about 3/4" tall and that wasn't acceptable. So I decided to make a chocolate cake too (buttermilk chocolate cake recipes are the best that I've tried so far). So the cake ended up being over 2" tall with frosting. Which I think makes the cake look even better.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter and are enjoying the spring weather. We have been very lucky with our weather this year here in Montana. We had chilly days, but still no real snow to speak of.

This is the girls baskets and dresses that I made. Took the picture that night before they dug into it at little past 7 AM.

This is the girls talking about what they have and you can't quite capture the excitement they had. This year we didn't do candy except 3 small suckers. Otherwise it was clothes, books and toys.

After lunch we headed over to Grammy and Grampy's to take pictures, look for eggs and have Easter dinner.

Scott asked the girls to stick their tongues out. Would you believe that is easier to get a picture of than them smiling. Kids silly things.... or wait is that parents?

Zoie smelling the flowers

All the girls smelling the flowers. I just loved the shot from behind.

Easter egg hunt began. Uncle Blaine had stopped out (even though on duty) and he decided he needed an Easter bonnet so he put Grampy's straw hat on so he could hunt eggs with the girls. Poor Scott had dog duty. He entertained our dogs and the neighbor's dog so that we could hide and seek the Easter eggs.

I was having fun hiding the eggs. Scott had colored this egg and when I saw the tractor in the sand box I just couldn't resist the opportunity for the picture.
