April (snow) showers.

Yeah, yeah... long time no post. Sorry! Blah blah, busy, work, busy, stuff, busy things, etc... not only that but we really haven't taken many photos recently. I'll have to check the kids camera and see what goodies are on there. In the meantime I'll get you caught up on all the goings on in the Weston household.

Easter was good, Krista made dresses and matching 'purses' for the girls, for which they were totally thrilled! When we went to the fabric store earlier this year we decided to let the girls pick their own fabric (within reason) so Audrey has a Snoopy pattern, Madison chose tulips and Zoie has Hello Kitty. We went to church then off to Uncle Blaine's house to hunt for Easter eggs and eat some lunch with the family. The girls got to hear Uncle Blaine tell them all about the meaning of Easter. Per Blaine, "Jesus dresses up as the Easter bunny and then comes out of the tomb, if he sees his shadow then there will be 2 more weeks of lent." I'm taking some liberty with the exact words, but I'm sure that's pretty close.

The weather has been odd. Again we didn't have much of a winter, then things started to warm up in March. Then, snow. These past two weeks have hopefully packed some snow up on the mountains, we didn't get much accumulation on the ground but it made things 'mucky' around here. This week shows a slight warming trend but still full of precipitation. April showers bring May flowers, but I didn't think they meant snow showers.

The girls are doing well in their remaining days of preschool. They enjoy reading and being read to. We've had a couple of road trips recently and it's funny to hear them sing, then when they get bored of singing normally they start making up words to the songs. Then there are the jokes which always start out with "Hey everybody I have a silly joke to tell you." then the joke and punchline go something like this. "Why does a dog wear a shoe on it's head?" why? "Because it likes to eat shoes!" Then the girls laugh uproariously at their impromptu joke, I don't think it's time for vaudeville just yet. Otherwise it's My Little Pony, Disney Princesses and recently they have taken more interest in the characters from the Disney movie Brave. "Daddy will you be Mor'Du?" *ROAR* ...oh and they take great pleasure in chanting "I see London, I see France I see ______'s underpants."

I have been going stir-crazy locked in the Dark Tower (AKA the Network Operations Center). So I've been looking at other jobs both inside and outside the cable company and brushing up on my interview skills. I was offered and subsequently accepted the position of Commercial Service Engineer for Optimum (soon to be Charter) in Casper, WY. This last month has been nothing but getting pre-approvals done with a couple of banks, working with our realtor and making multiple trips to Casper to look at houses. It's a scary and exciting proposition. I am absolutely looking forward to the personal and professional growth that comes along with this new job. I also realize the difficulties of leaving Billings. We've been spoiled for the past four and a half years living right next to my parents here in my Aunt Fern and Uncle Keith's old house. Over 5 acres for the kids and dogs to run, great neighbors, quiet country living... and Grammy and Grampy right next door where the girls can just run or ride their bikes over to their house and "invade". This was the year that we were going to get a place of our own again anyhow, so this dream was going to come to an end... I just figured we were going to be here in town, not 4 hours away. It's going to be hard on Krista and the girls who will be away from the friends they have made here, and difficult for all of us to be away not only from Krista's family, but now my family as well. On the bright side, we're only 4 hours away from Billings and Allegiant does fly direct from Mesa to Casper.

Anywho, the next great adventure starts. I'll be doing some on the job training in Billings with the CSE's here for about a month, then around the 1st week of June I'll be taking over in Casper. If all goes well we'll be closing on our house around May 17th.

Natrona County has an open school district, so Krista and I contacted them to make arrangements to get the girls into Kindergarten in the fall. Since they cap the enrollment for k-3rd at 17 students per teacher we figured that we would have to get on the ball. We found out this week that Audrey, Madison and Zoie will be going to the Fort Caspar Academy which is said to have the "highest academic expectations" of all the elementary schools. I don't know how "academic" Kindergarten can be, but I guess we'll see! Fort Caspar is one of 3 schools in the district that is looking to start dual-language classes in the fall, you can read the article here. Your thoughts and prayers are appreciated as we make this transition.

I suppose I'll end my fairly verbose post and let you get to the pics! Enjoy.
