Easter!

Spring is here!! That means only one or two more cold fronts that will dump 8-12" on snow on us before things warm up for good ;)

It's also hard to believe that May is fast approaching, and with that, the final days of Kindergarten for the girls. ..and Mother's Day, need to remember Mother's Day, and my birthday. I'll make a note of it for you.

So this was a typical Weston weekend. After breakfast we decided to do a spontaneous (one of my Father's favorite words) road-trip. "we'll go as far as Cheyenne and see what happens from there" I said. We ended up in Denver. Then back in Casper around 2am...

Needless to say, I did not schedule the 0730 wake up call.
"MOMMY!! DADDY!!! THE EASTER BUNNY WAS HERE LAST NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!! COME ON, GET OUT OF BED!!!!"
Hello, front desk? Yes, I think you have the wrong room.

3 cups of coffee later Easter was in full swing in the Weston house. (note to self, don't eat shredded wheat cereal when there are fist-fulls of Easter grass being flung around the house. On the bright side, no need to floss after breakfast.)

The girls had a great time trying on the Easter dresses that Nana (not sure why I have trouble with that one. NahNah? Na-na? Sha na na na hey hey hey!). Then diving into the baskets (no, you may not have candy for breakfast. *as I sneak a peanut butter egg with my coffee* HEY, when I was nine, I promised my older self that I would have ice cream for breakfast.. I don't think I've ever actually done that.. put that down for another birthday activity.. the birthday I am making a note of for you.) Now where was I.. oh yeah, NO CANDY FOR BREAKFAST!! Which means that I was sequestered in the kitchen while I made eggs and bacon, chorizo and hash browns for breakfast... in retrospect, it would have been easier to let them have candy. One of the big hits in the basket was that they each got their own dust pan and mini-broom. I kid you not.. click here. Anyhow, they thought they were great, and I thought it was great that I had 3 little ones sweeping up the kitchen while I was cooking. It was like being back in Cambodia. Just kidding, I never cooked when I was in Cambodia.. wait, I've never been to Cambodia. Then we kicked the kids out into the back yard and let them color some eggs. The past 4 years when we lived in Billings this was a bit more fun as we had 8 or more kids from the Moms of Multiples group join us. I tried to get Baxter and Zero to help but that was a no-go. The girls had a blast (figuratively not literally since Krista told me I could not pack the eggs with black powder again). So we colored eggs, hid eggs, found eggs and repeated that process about 4 more times throughout the day. If Humpty Dumpty would have been hard boiled all the Kings horses and all the Kings men could have taken him to a good plastic surgeon to get better again. Except he would probably come back as a grade AA after going in as an A.

My slightly sleep deprived ramblings have come to an end (you're welcome), enjoy the pictures!

The baskets were hung by the chimney with care.

Smile!

I SAID "SMILE!"

The hunt begins!

I'm not sure what the limit is for eggs during Easter Egg season.

MY PRECIOUS!!

After the hunt. Counting them up to see who the winner was.

The chocolate high is kicking in. Right about... NOW!

Madison found one in the egg tree (which only bears fruit on Easter Sunday).

Now where is that bright red egg? Where could it be...
