We have been fighting some kind of cold/flu thing around this house since about 12/20. Just when you think it is all gone, some little thing sneaks up. Hopefully it is all done, since we are going to have a MOMC play date at our house on Monday.
On New Year's we set the huge pile of wood on fire, but amazingly enough we didn't take a picture. What were we thinking. I'll have to get a picture from Scott's nephews and show you how huge this thing was. My mom would have been frightened, but it was awesome. There was plenty of snow on the ground so no worries about starting other fires. Family was here and our neighbors Debbie and Dwight. We just hung out (10 degree weather) had some tasty beverages and enjoyed the fire.
There was an unfortunate event at the start of the evening. A family member accidentally ran over our new dog Pepper. It was dark and she wasn't the brightest when it came to cars. All we can figure is she went running after another dog and right under his truck. She had a wonderful two months with us. She had made friends with all the dogs in the neighborhood and all the people who met her just loved her. She is in a better place now, and we figure God just had a bigger plan for her. It wasn't our intention to get a new dog any time soon, but Scott found himself at the animal shelter on Saturday and next thing I know he is home with a new dog. This one is a puppy. He is 3 months old, and he is a Husky/Labrador mix. He is just the cutest dang thing. We have been working on the potty training thing. We are up to holding for just a little over three hours now. He might go longer, but I don't want to take the chance. We'll try four hours in a couple days. Oh yeah, his name is Logan.
Lets change directions, the girls are just growing up every day. They learn new words and their imaginations are just blooming. Today we sat and played with Mega Blocks for an hour. I found some of their smaller stuffed animals and we made houses, slides and they had them climb trees and dance. I let them to their own devices for a while and it was just so much fun to watch and listen. They still have their own language, but are starting to pick up on ours. He are some pictures from earlier in the week. Since we haven't been up to par, the picture taking has been minimal.
These were taken on December 31. It was nice enough to play outside for a little bit. I put the girls new hats and gloves on (amazingly enough they left them on) and outside we went. It was in the low 30's, but no wind and the sun was shining, it felt great. I got the sled down and toted the girls around the yard a couple times. By the time Scott came outside Audrey was the only left on the sled, Zoie and Madison were done and wanted to go back inside. It was hard to get Audrey back inside, I think she likes the snow/cold.

This was New Years Day. We asked Marc to stay the night, by the time we were all done cleaning up we all just looked exhausted and his drive is probably 20 minutes and a good portion on country roads (deer!!!). So the next morning he got up and was playing with the girls. They just loved it. Scott and I could have run away and the girls wouldn't have noticed.

These are from January 2.
This was breakfast. Normally when we have cold cereal (no milk yet) they just stand around and eat it. So I thought it was so cute that they each got their own pillow and sat down to eat their breakfast and watch Sesame Street.

Later that day we received a package from my mom from Diane Bentley. She had made the girls aprons. Each one has their name and a little design, they loved them. They kept them on until it was time to get ready for bed. It was perfect timing with them getting the kitchen for Christmas. I expect to get a lot of wear and tear from these aprons. They will also help with craft time too (when they get a little older).

Isn't it amazing how much they have grown and changed in one year.
I'm looking forward to the next year. They will be two here in a few days (Jan 12).
So here are some pics of the girls and our new dog Logan.
It's a good thing he has a good demeanor or we would have been in trouble.

Zoie had her binkie because she was running a fever and just not feeling well otherwise no binkies except for nap time and bed time. I asked her to take it out and say cheese. Don't you just love when the listen to you. To bad it doesn't work for everything.

Madison taking the ball away, she did eventually give it back to him,
but these pics were the cutest.

We miss everyone that we haven't seen in a while. Life just gets so busy around the holidays that some times we forget to stop and think of our loved ones (family and friends). I just want everyone to know that we are thinking of you and although we may not keep in touch all the time, we do think of you and keep you in our prayers. Hope the new year brings wonderful things for everyone.

Oh my GOD they are just so cute. They seem to like this puppy a little more than Pepper. Probably a bett fit, since the puppy is only 3 months it will grow with them. They really seem to like it!
ReplyDeleteToo Cute!
Love and miss you all. Carrie
