Camping Trip Day Two 09/24

Day 2 starts out with hot chocolate after breakfast. We didn't sleep that well, we had a couple of "bumps and thumps" in the night as the girls tried to get used to their new sleeping accommodations. Needless to say, by 3am the girls had found their way into our bed.

Autumn was in full swing as the mornings were crisp, the aspen leaves were turning to warm shades of copper and gold and the few raspberries we could find were perfectly ripe! Rock Creek was just 150 yards north of the camper so when it warmed up in the afternoon we played near the water. The girls took much delight in throwing rocks into the creek, just about as much as the dogs enjoyed chasing after them.

Earlier that week while shopping for supplies for the trailer I picked up 2 plastic trucks at Goodwill in anticipation that the girls might have fun rolling them through the dirt; I had no idea just how big of a hit they would be. They would roll them down the slightly rolling hill behind the fire-pit, run down pick it up and do it all over again. When that got old they would load the truck beds with pine cones and dirt and drive them around. The look on Madison's face as the truck rolls down the slope captures pure joy. They started to fight over the trucks so I made a quick run to Red Lodge and picked up a Tonka truck to keep the peace. (I know... I'm a sucker.)
